The start and finish for all distances are next to the Royal Palace, the Nieuwe Kerk and the National Monument on Dam Square in Amsterdam. This square, which dates from the 12th century, has been transformed into an attractive start and finish location. Catering, lockers, toilets, live entertainment, various exhibitors with great offers, Red Cross and even a repair station are all available. It’s also possible to rent a VIP tent on Dam Square. In addition to all participants who start and finish on the Dam, other public are also welcome to take a look at this cycling party.
Start
In the Damstraat, participants gather for the start. The official start window is between 7:30 hours and 9:00 hours. Those who depart during this time will ride through the iconic IJtunnel.
Between 9:00 hours and 9:45 hours, there is an alternative start option, but this route does not pass through the IJtunnel. This extra start option is exclusively for participants of the 40, 60, 90, and 110 km distances. Details about this alternative route will follow later.
It is possible to cycle a shorter distance on the day itself with the received stamp card. However, it’s not allowed to cycle a longer distance.
